Located east of Vigo Road, about a mile north of Richmondale and not visible from the road. In 1875, the cemetery lay on the southeast part of W. H. Elliott's 110 acre farm just north of Salt Creek. Directly across the creek south was the 232 acre farm of George COON, many of whose family are buried in Elliott Cemetery, and the graveyard has also been known as the Coon Cemetery.
