Purpose
To preserve and collect genealogical and historical records of this area.
To promote research through making available literature regarding the purposes, records acquisitions, and discoveries of the society.
To aid others in the publication and dissemination of materials regarding Ross County.
To receive and hold gifts and bequests from any source for the benefit of the society.
To encourage active membership in this Society and the Ohio Genealogical Society.

General Meetings/Programs
General meetings/programs are held on the second Tuesday of March, April, May, July, September, October & November at 7:00 p.m., unless otherwise noted, at the RCGS Library, 303 S. Paint Street, Chillicothe, Ohio. See the Events page for program topics.
The annual Banquet is held the second Tuesday in June at 6:30 p.m.. The annual Picnic is held the second Tuesday of August at 6:00 p.m. at the RCGS Library and the annual Christmas Dinner is held at 6:00 p.m. in December at the RCGS Library.
