Rev. George Beecher, brother of Harriet Beecher Stow and author of "Uncle Toms' Cabin", organized an abolition church. It was on the corner of Paint and Fifth Streets in Chillicothe where the Clough Opera House stood before the old post office was built there. The church was known as the "Third Presbyterian Church."
